Why are people born blind? The disciples once asked Jesus if it was somebody’s sin that caused it. Of course Jesus said no, it wasn’t sin. Is God to Blame (Book Review)

I have always been a fan of the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. For some reason, the antics and insights played out by the characters strike a deep chord within me—and many others around the world. The author seems to have of way of identifying with things in us and painting them in a humorous light. I recently came across an exchange between Hobbes and Calvin that is all too reflective of what many people believe. Sitting on a grassy hill, Hobbes looks to his friend and asks, “Do you think there’s a God?” After a reflective pause, Calvin replies, “Well, somebody’s out to get me!” Read the rest of this entry »

Modesty 101 for Men (Warning: Blunt Content)

Ok so there is much talk among Christian circles about women dressing modestly. “Don’t walk around with your boobs hanging out”, “Don’t wear your skirt too short”, blah blah blah etc. etc. Ok whatever. DUH. We know already. And girls who don’t, get a clue.
